Master Craftsperson Private Session

Block printing, pashmina, blue pottery — learn from the hands that keep traditions alive.

Spend a morning in the private workshop of a master artisan — block printers in Jaipur, pashmina weavers in Srinagar, chikankari embroiderers in Lucknow — learning techniques passed through generations.

About This Experience

India's craft traditions are not museum exhibits — they are living, breathing practices sustained by families who have worked with their hands for centuries. This experience places you inside a working studio, not a demonstration set up for tourists. You'll sit with the artisan, handle the tools, understand the patience each piece demands, and leave with something you made yourself. Your Ambassador knows each artisan personally and will match you with the craft tradition that resonates most — whether that's the geometry of Rajasthani block printing, the impossible fineness of Kashmiri pashmina, or the quiet discipline of Lucknowi chikankari. For those who want to go deeper, we can arrange a multi-day apprenticeship or a bespoke commission that the artisan ships to you after the trip.

What to Expect

  • Private transfer to the artisan's personal workshop (not a tourist showroom)
  • Introduction to the craft tradition, its history, and the artisan's family lineage
  • Hands-on session: you'll work with the actual tools and materials under the artisan's guidance
  • Chai and conversation — your Ambassador translates if needed
  • A finished piece to take home, or the option to commission a larger work

  • All materials and tools
  • Chai and light refreshments
